Invited Presentation at “Code and the City” Workshop

Today and tomorrow (Sept. 3-4 2014) I will participate in a workshop at Maynooth University (Ireland) on “Code And The City”, where a small group of invited speakers will discuss their research at the intersection of software, ubiquitous computing and the city. The event is supported by the ERC Advanced Investigator Grant “The Programmable City”, led by Professor Rob Kitchin.

At the workshop, I will present ongoing work I am conducting with my colleague Gabriela Avram of the University of Limerick examining how interactions on the location-based social networking platform Foursquare shape and are shaped by the physical environment of everyday human activities, and how the system and its use are mutually evolving.
